![]() You may decide the order of the tags in Devonthink isn’t really important if the mind map is your table of contents. If you want to change the order of chapters in the mind map, drag them around in the mind map. The mind map is an overview and a table of contents into selected (tagged) Devonthink documents… It’s probably not strictly necessary to have that view, but it’s encouraging. ![]() If something doesn’t fit, don’t delete it, just de-tag it so you can re-use it later.ĭevonthink’s documents become a repository of ideas, tagged to appear in the story beats where they belong. Now when you click on a node in the mind map, you get a live compilation of the ideas that contribute to that point in the story as well as a focussed view of the ideas that matter. Set the view mode to unsorted and drag the members of the tags to an order that makes sense. Click on a node, MindNode opens up the tag, showing you a focussed view of just what counts for that point in the story.įor extra hipster points, set the script for each of those tags to the transclusion script discussed elsewhere in this forum. Now you’ve got a nice clean 10,000 foot overview of your story. It’s just a starting point, not manacles.Įach node’s link points to a Devonthink tag of the same name as the node. Imagine a MindNode mind map of the Hero’s Journey, or whatever beat sheet you want to start with for describing your plot. I’m begging, truly begging.I’ve started fiddling with a variation on outlining in Devonthink. In the meantime, can you make an integration with a mind mapping service? (preferably Mind Meister, or something else)īecause I’m seriously considering switching from Monday to Mind Meister + Meistertask at this point, as we’re working a lot more efficient in this way. I’m almost crying thinking about how great it would be). (I imagine having this as an additional view. I would love Mondays take on the mind map, but I realize that’s in the future. Now my employees can easily say: “HEY! That’s not a good solution, because this is the real problem”ĭo you see the genius of this way of working? I know you included tags for this, but it just doesn’t work as efficiently as a mind map does. We’re trying to improve the way we write tasks, but sometimes you just don’t have the time and energy to everything properly.īut if each task is connected to the mind map, it’s extremely easy to understand context.īutton needs to include icon -(Because)-> User needs to have a visual representation of the option -> Make it easier for the customer to understand the difference between the options -> Customer find it difficult to understand and choose between products -> Make it easier to buy products -> Increase sales in online store There are several ways to solve this, and we’re working on it. They complain that our tasks are lazily written, and that they don’t understand WHY they need to all tasks.įor example, I write “Design button with big icon in the middle”, and they are left irritated and wondering “… But why?” It also solves a complaint from my employees. Now I can do this directly with the team, at the end of each session. MUCH BETTER than having to spend time manually write all the tasks down after each brainstorm. The next time I log into Meistertask, the new tasks are there. I can also send them to a board in Meistertask. It’s genius! I can create a mind map, then make some of the bubbles into tasks, where I can assign due date, assignee etc. Recently, I discovered Mind Meister together with Meistertask. Our team uses mindmaps during all kinds of brainstorming, but also to categorize our ideas.
